Wide Grip Lat Pulldown
A 200-characters-or-less explanation of the exercise.
Instructions
- Sit at a lat pulldown machine and reach up to grab the bar with a wide overhand grip.
- Pull the bar down towards your chest while keeping your back straight and your elbows pointed down and back.
- Squeeze your shoulder blades together as you pull the bar down.
- Slowly raise the bar back up to the starting position, controlling the weight as you go.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Letting your body swing or arch back excessively.
- Using momentum to pull the bar down instead of controlled muscle contraction.
- Failing to engage the back muscles properly, relying too much on arms.
