Triceps Pushdown V Bar Attachment
Perform a triceps pushdown using a V-bar attachment to isolate and strengthen the triceps muscles.
Instructions
- Attach a V-bar to the high pulley of a cable station.
- Stand facing the machine and grasp the V-bar with an overhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart.
- Keep your elbows close to your torso and your upper arms stationary as you inhale.
- Using your triceps, press the bar down until your arms are fully extended and perpendicular to the floor. Exhale as you perform this movement.
- After a brief pause at the contracted position, slowly raise the bar back to the starting position as you inhale.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using momentum to push down instead of isolating the triceps.
- Letting the elbows flare out, reducing the effectiveness of the exercise.
- Leaning too far forward, putting strain on the back instead of working the triceps.
