Standing Cable Chest Press
A chest exercise targeting the pectoral muscles using a cable machine.
Instructions
- Adjust the pulleys on a cable machine to chest height.
- Stand in the center with one foot slightly forward for balance.
- Grab the handles with an overhand grip and step forward, pulling the cables into starting position with your elbows bent and hands at shoulder level.
- Press the handles forward and together by extending your elbows until your arms are straight in front of you.
- Pause briefly, then slowly return to the starting position.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Leaning too far forward, which can strain your back and reduce chest activation.
- Failing to engage the core for stability.
- Using too much weight, which can impair form and lead to injury.
- Letting the elbows flare out excessively, which can put stress on the shoulder joint.
