Snatch From Blocks
A derivative of the snatch performed using blocks to elevate the barbell.
Instructions
- Place blocks to desired height and rest the barbell on them.
- Stand close to the barbell with feet hip-width apart.
- Grip the bar with a wide, overhand grip.
- Engage the core, and pull the barbell straight up, keeping it close to the body.
- Extend through the knees, hips, and ankles to fully stand up before dropping under the bar to catch it overhead.
- Stand up fully with the barbell overhead, ensuring the arms are locked out.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Not keeping the bar close to the body during the pull.
- Failing to fully extend the hips before dropping under the bar.
- Not maintaining a stable overhead position with locked arms.
