Smith Machine Overhead Shoulder Press
A shoulder-strengthening exercise using a Smith machine to press weight overhead.
Instructions
- Position yourself on the seat of the Smith machine with your feet flat on the floor.
- Grip the bar with your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Unlock the bar from the safety latches.
- Press the bar upwards until your arms are fully extended.
- Lower the bar back to the shoulder level with control.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using excessive weight that compromises form.
- Locking elbows during the press.
- Not keeping the back straight or arching excessively.
