Smith Machine Bent Over Row
A bent-over row variation performed using a Smith machine to target the upper body muscles.
Instructions
- Set the appropriate weight on the Smith machine.
- Stand facing the bar, feet shoulder-width apart.
- Bend at the hips and knees slightly to grab the bar with a pronated grip.
- Pull the bar towards your lower ribcage while keeping your elbows close to your body.
- Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top of the movement.
- Lower the bar with control back to the starting position.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Rounding the back instead of keeping it straight.
- Using momentum to lift the weight.
- Flaring elbows out too wide.
- Not engaging core muscles during the exercise.
