Open Palm Kettlebell Clean
A dynamic movement using kettlebells to clean the weight with an open palm, improving grip and stability.
Instructions
- Start with feet shoulder-width apart and the kettlebell on the floor in front of you.
- Hinge at your hips and slightly bend your knees to grab the kettlebell with one hand.
- Keep your palm open and the kettlebell resting primarily on your fingers.
- Explosively lift the kettlebell by extending through your hips and knees, keeping it close to your body.
- As the kettlebell rises, rotate your arm so the bell comes to rest on the back of your forearm.
- Stand upright, and the kettlebell will settle gently with your palm open.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using too much arm, not enough explosive leg and hip drive.
- Allowing the kettlebell to flip and bang against the forearm.
- Not keeping the kettlebell close to the body during the clean.
- Gripping the handle too tightly which prevents a smooth motion.
