Leg Extensions
Leg extensions focus on strengthening the quadriceps using a machine.
Instructions
- Sit on the leg extension machine with your feet under the padded lever.
- Adjust the machine so that the pad is against your lower shin, just above your feet.
- Set the desired weight for the exercise.
- Using your quadriceps, extend your legs until they are straight.
- Pause briefly at the top of the movement.
- Slowly lower back to the starting position.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using momentum to lift the weight instead of your muscles.
- Locking your knees at the top of the movement.
- Placing the pad too high on the shins, causing discomfort.
