Incline Push Up Close Grip
An incline variation of the push-up with close hand placement to target the triceps and upper chest.
Instructions
- Find an inclined surface such as a bench or step.
- Place your hands on the bench, closer than shoulder-width apart.
- Walk your feet back so that your body forms a straight line from head to heels.
- Engage your core and keep your elbows tucked close to your body.
- Lower your chest towards the bench by bending your elbows.
- Press back to the starting position by straightening your arms.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Placing hands too wide apart impacts target muscle activation.
- Not maintaining a straight body line, leading to sagging hips.
- Flaring elbows outwards which can strain the shoulders.
