Incline Dumbbell Flyes
A popular chest exercise performed on an incline bench to target the upper chest region.
Instructions
- Position an incline bench at about 30 to 45 degrees.
- Hold a dumbbell in each hand, lying back on the bench.
- Begin with your arms extended above your chest, with a slight bend in the elbows and palms facing each other.
- In a controlled motion, lower the dumbbells to the side in an arc-like motion, keeping your elbows slightly bent.
- Pause for a moment at the bottom of the movement when you feel the stretch across your chest.
- Bring the dumbbells back together above your chest, following the same arc-like path.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Letting the dumbbells drop too low, which can stress the shoulders.
- Not controlling the dumbbells on the way down, leading to potential injury.
- Using too much weight, which can compromise form and range of motion.
