Close Grip Push Up Off Of A Dumbbell
A variation of the classic push-up that targets the triceps and chest.
Instructions
- Place a dumbbell on the floor and get into a push-up position with your hands on the dumbbell, ensuring your body is straight from head to heels.
- Position your hands close together, directly under your chest, gripping the dumbbell.
- Lower your body by bending your elbows, keeping them close to your sides, until your chest nearly touches the dumbbell.
- Push through your palms to straighten your arms and return to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Not keeping the elbows close to the body which shifts the focus away from the triceps.
- Allowing the hips to sag or rise, causing misalignment of the body.
- Inadequate range of motion, not lowering the chest close enough to the dumbbell.
