Instructions
- Stand with feet hip-width apart and barbell on the floor.
- Grip the barbell, keeping hands just outside the knees.
- Initiate the lift by extending hips and knees.
- Once the barbell is at mid-thigh, explosively extend the hips, shrug the shoulders, and pull the barbell upward, driving the elbows forward to catch the barbell on the shoulders.
- Immediately press the bar overhead using leg drive.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Rounding the back at the start of the lift.
- Using arms instead of legs to lift.
- Failing to fully extend the hips before shrugging.
- Pressing the bar overhead with a forward-leaning torso.
