Box Squat With Chains
A 200-characters-or-less explanation of the exercise.
Instructions
- Set up a box behind you and place chains on a barbell.
- Stand in front of the box, load the barbell rack.
- Position yourself beneath the barbell, grip it, and unrack it stepping back until you are in position in front of the box.
- Begin the descent by pushing your hips back and bending your knees, keeping the chest up and core tight.
- Descend until your glutes touch the box without sitting completely on it.
- Engage your core, push through heels, and drive upwards to return to the starting position.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Letting the knees cave inwards.
- Allowing the back to round during the descent or ascent.
- Completely sitting on the box instead of maintaining tension throughout.
- Not aligning the barbell with the mid-foot.
